UNESCO World Heritage Site  in France –  Santiago de Compostela was the supreme goal for countless thousands of pious pilgrims who converged there from all over Europe throughout the Middle Ages. To reach Spain pilgrims had to pass through France, and the group of important historical monuments included in this inscription marks out the four routes by which they did so.

Aubrac is a town in the southern Massif Central of France. The name is also applied to the surrounding landscape, which is properly called L’Aubrac in French.This country is a volcanic and granitic plateau (1 500 km²). 

 The average altitude of the plateau is about 1200 meters with its highest point at 1469 m (Signal de Mailhebiau) at the south . Bovine breeding is the main activity on the plateau. Aubrac has its own bovine species called “Aubrac”, which is well adapted to this environment. ( Wikipédia )
