From Prehistoric times the rocky promontory, which overlooks the Ouvèze, sheltered a fortified village of the Voconces tribe.During the 13th century a medieval town took shape just below the castle, which was built by the Counts of Toulouse. The most visible surviving buildings are the 14th century ramparts and the Belfry with its 18thcentury wrought-iron tower.
A walk through the medieval town’s narrow streets should include the Cathedral, the castle, the Place du Vieux-Marché……
