White and Blue…….
Cadaques is a village located along the Costa Brava ( North of Catalonia ), close to Cap de Creus, the most oriental part of the peninsula. It’ s a small fishing port which was the residence of Salvador Dalí .
The mountainous and very steep environment, a rich History dating back to the Ancient times and the turistic expansion thanks to Dali’s presence give to this white and blue village a real interest and beauty.
During the 20th century, the village became a favourite spot for local and foreign artists. They were attracted by the beauty of its rugged and rocky landscape and by the light of Catalonia. A lot of painters and writers before Dalí visited Cadaqués as Picasso, Duchamp, Max Ernst, Magritte, Paul Eluard and his wife Gala, Federico García Lorca and Josep Pla, as well as the famous filmaker Luís Buñuel.

An exceptional walk from France into Spain, discovering the magnificent contrasting landscapes along the Catalan coast. This walk combines sea and landscape, excellent even in the mild Mediterranean winter. It takes you along the Côte Vermeille, beloved by the artists Dali and Miro. The path from Banyuls to the border with Spain follows the route taken by Walter Benjamin, the German-Jewish philosopher, on 24th September 1940, and is the route followed by many Jewish refugees during World War II. From the coast to the mountains, from sea to crag, from sandy beach to shady Mediterranean forest … a diverse natural landscape full of contrast, history, with clear emerald waters and charming fishing villages, stunning views, friendly people and unique culture.
