The Portlligat House-Museum was the place where Salvador Dali lived and worked until 1982 when Gala died, he took up residence at Pubol Castle.
In 1930 , Salvador Dali moved to a small fisherman’ s hut in Portlligat , attracted by the landscape , the light and the isolation of the place. Taking that initial construction as a basis, he created his house little by little over the course of forty years. He himself describe it ” like a true biological structure “…. Each new pulse in our life has its own new cell, a room “. ( Read more )

An exceptional walk from France into Spain, discovering the magnificent contrasting landscapes along the Catalan coast. This walk combines sea and landscape, excellent even in the mild Mediterranean winter.
From the coast to the mountains, from sea to crag, from sandy beach to shady Mediterranean forest … a diverse natural landscape full of contrast, history, with clear emerald waters and charming fishing villages, stunning views, friendly people and unique culture. ( Read more : Ici & Là Nature )
New to your blog (as you’ve just found me! Thanks) I was scrolling through your posts and pictures and I see an egg on a roof. At first I think, “strange”, but of course have to pen up the full blog so I can see what is going on! And of course! Salvador Dali! Now it makes sense! Great post! Thank you for taking the time to find such great information! I look forward to reading some other of your postings.

I plan to visit Spain this summer and want to stay in youth hostels along the coastline. I want to travel cheap so that I can be there for as long as possible. Any recommendations for places to visit/stay. I would like to stay away from the most popular and typical touristy places. Any recommendations?

Bonjour and thanks for the comment. I don’t have such tips in Spain but what I would do if I were you is first see with Youth Hostels and start by Catalunya in Llança for example and wouldn’t miss Barcelona. The Coast from France to Tossa de mar is interestins and wild, then southwards is more touristic. Between Collioure and Cadaques its great ! If you like walking….http://www.xanascat.cat/shownode.tjc?id=237

I was always fascinated by Dali’s artwork when I was young. Thanks for sharing this wonderful museum! Spain is another destination on my travel list for the future as I have some ancestry there. Great pictures. 🙂

I love that first idea by Dali that with each pulse of life he creates a new room; perhaps that is exactly what we all do in some way (if we use the word ‘room’ liberally) and don’t notice it.

This is so beautiful! Over 20 years ago, I was in Figueras in Catalonia and visited the Dali Museum. It was one of the most fascinating museums I’ve ever been to, and I’ve loved Dalis art since then. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it to Cadaques at that time, but your pics have convinced me: I have to return!
