About

This blog is a pictures blog created by Thierry and Cecile, for the website http://www.walk-bike-camino.com, where you can find walking and biking tours in France and Europe especially on the Caminos (Way of St James) in France Spain, Portugal.

France is a  hiking paradise and our goal is to share our passion for the diversity of our country.

We also are expert of the famous Camino Frances or the Camino del Norte in Spain but also in France where there are plenty of routes to reach St jean Pied de Port in the Basque country : The Puy Route, the Vezelay Route, the Foothill or Pyrenenan Route, the Arles Way…

Thank you for your interest.

  1. Thank you for the follow. Your pictures bring back fond memories of France esp. of the Brittany region where I spent several weeks on a work trip with Alcatel-Lucent. Back then I also could speak a little French (at least get by in France). My favorite place is Mont St Michel which I visited twice.

I overnighted once in Paris on a business trip but I never got the chance to visit the French countryside. Alas my days of international travel are over, so I will have to enjoy France thought your pictures.

I have been told that France and Texas are similar in many ways. I know that the sizes are similar and that we both have vineyards. I like both French and Texas wines, but I will be the first to admit that my palate with regard to wine is not very sophisticated. I have also been told that our climates are similar … at least as far as grape growing is concerned. Still I can not imagine that your summers are as hellishly hot and humid as here. Right now it is 100 deg F and about 100% humidity.

    Be seeing you …

    1. Hi,

Thank you for your comment..I have never been to Texas, but I didn’t know there were any similarities with France. For me the landscapes are much larger in your country. In France we have a great variety in landscape but on a smaller scale ! We can have 100 deg F in Summer, July and August but not the same humidity rate, which, I suppose, make heat more bearable ! Have a nice day …Cécile

    1. Thanks for the comment ! France is a small country but with a great variety of landscapes. Hiking is nearly a national past time here. Hiking federation has waymarked more than 60 000 km of tracks. Just choose a region that suits you, with independent or guided group tour, choose your date, wherever you come from I can help you to set up your trip …you just have to travel to Paris and I’ll do the rest !
