The Salon de l’Agriculture is all about featuring the best of France’s farms, farmers, animals, food and drink products, and the agricultural way of life. The show spreads over seven massive halls and focuses on four aspects: animal life, crops-plants and gardening, gastronomy in France and abroad, and agriculture-related services and businesses.
There are thousands of stalls and chances to sample the best of France’s cheese, wine, beer, honey and more.
Sip a fine Bordeaux, beer or cider,sample a piece of ham, foie gras, olive, or taste cheese straight from the farm.
There are also restaurants set up inside the area featuring regional cuisine. Skip the standard hot dogs, pizza and sandwiches, and head for oysters from Normandy, Tartiflette from Evian, cheese dishes from Savoie or fresh ham and sausages brought in from around the country by the farmers themselves.

Thank you ! the guys in robes are members of confréries which defend a product,a veg, a fruit (strawberries of Carpentras, Cassoulet de Castelnaudary, melon de Cavaillon, confrerie du foie gras and so on …!) there are hundreds of confreries…some of them are also like a joke…not very serious…funny…thanks for your comment !

Sincerely, I don’t really know..I think it depends if the confrerie is important or not….they must be volunteer I suppose…but I am going to ask Thierry if he knows more about them and I’ll tell you..ok ?
