Along the banks of the Dordogne River the medieval village of Carennac is classified among the “Most Beautiful Villages of France”. These photos have been taken in early April in a misty morning light. It is located not far from the famous Gouffre de Padirac and Rocamadour, this renowned perched holy city.
The 12th century tympanum of the Church, the cloister rebuilt just after the 100 Year War, the Castle (Chateau des Doyens) built in the 16th century as well as many well preserved mansions compose this village of 400 inhabitants.
