Located near Bordeaux the castle of Roquetaillade has been owned by the same family since 1306 ! The History of this place dates back to the Prehistoric times because at that time there were troglodytes houses. Then Charlemagne built the first timber fortifications in the 9th century.
The Castle has been restored several times since then. The main restoration occured in the 17th century with the windows opening and the chimney creation and afterwards with Viollet le Duc in the 19th century.
